Letter from the Chair
Dear Friends,
As Chair of the CFC campaign for 2010, I am thrilled to invite you to participate in this year’s campaign. The CFC campaign is our campaign and together, we have the power to make a difference. Each year, thousands of federal employees of varying backgrounds come together for a common cause, to give back to their community to make this world a better place. You or someone you know has most likely benefited from the generosity of others through their giving to numerous charities of the CFC. Life can change in an instant and yes, even you may find yourself on the receiving end of a CFC funded charity.
We understand the challenges with giving during these difficult economic times. But it is precisely during these challenging economic times that these charities need our help more than ever. Charities report that traditional sources of funding have dried-up but CFC giving remains a bright spot. Even during this economic downturn, the federal community has demonstrated a commitment to charitable causes. Thanks to the outpouring of support from the federal community, CFC workplace giving is as strong as ever.
New for 2010 is a concerted effort to Green our campaign. We have received overwhelming agency feedback to transition more of the campaign process to the Norcal website. What this means for you is that the Norcal website, www.cfcnorcal.com, should be your primary source for accessing CFC Norcal information, including searching the charity list. The Norcal website also has links to Employee Express where many agency employees can give through payroll deduction.
For those of you who have never given to the CFC, I encourage you to be a first time giver of whatever amount you can. No donation is too small! If you are a loyal supporter of the CFC, welcome back! We need your leadership now more than ever. In our work as federal employees, we give of ourselves everyday because we care about the welfare of our communities, our country and the world. Please join me this year in extending that same compassion and generosity through the CFC.
Honorably yours,
Mark J. Reiss
Chair, Combined Federal Campaign, CFC Norcal
