Letter from the Chair
Dear Friends:
Each year thousands of individuals of varying backgrounds come together for a common cause, to give back to their community to make this world a better place. One way to give back is to participate in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). You or someone you know has most likely benefited from the generosity of others through their giving to numerous charities of the CFC. As a result of this dedication, the CFC has grown to become the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign.
We understand the challenges with giving during these troubled economic times. We all feel the economic pinch, from rising costs to an unstable real estate market. These economic hardships also impact these charities and their ability to serve our community and they need our help now more than ever. That's why the CFC leadership has taken aggressive steps to increase the amount of your donations going directly to charities. To increase efficiencies and lower campaign costs for 2009, the Bay Area CFC has merged with the Sacramento Area CFC to become CFC Norcal. In addition, we have scaled down the number of costs of incentives so that more of your heart felt donations go directly to your designated charities to make a difference in this world.
For those of you who have never given to the CFC, I encourage you to be a first time giver of whatever amount you can. It is painless to give through payroll deduction. Please visit our new website at www.cfcnorcal.com, where many agency employees can use Employee Express for payroll deductions. If you are a loyal supporter of the CFC, welcome back! We need your leadership now more than ever.
This year our theme is "I Can, Now More Than Ever". Together, "iCan, uCan, weCan" help a child; save a species; find a cure; rescue a friend; plant a tree; feed the hungry; and lend a hand to our felllow man. "uCan" make a difference by donating to your favorite charities. I hope you will join us to make this world a better place.
Thank you.
